To get into marketing, you should try to find a part-time job in the field, even if it is just making photocopies for people in marketing. At least you will get a sense of what they do.
Also get involved with your student association to coordinate events and speakers. Don't be afraid to call people and ask them to come and give a speech. In that way you will develop some networking skills and have contacts.
