Growing Prospects was started by teacher Dave Taylor, who had taught a little boy who became a victim of a gang incident.

This tragedy sparked the idea to put RCMP confiscated hydroponic equipment, usually just tossed in landfills, to good use.

The money made from growing herbs with this equipment is donated to Choices, an organization dedicated to youth gang prevention.
